Appeal against the dismissal of claims relating to payment of the National Minimum Wage and wrongful dismissal compensation. The wrongful dismissal compensation appeal was allowed and the others dismissed.
National Minimum Wage Rates for 2022
The Low Pay Commission’s recommendations on the National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage rates which will apply from 1 April 2022 have now been published. These recommendations have been accepted in full by the Government. The NLW and NMW rates from 1 April 2022 are:

The Supreme Court has dimissed appeals against a failure to pay the NMW for hours spent sleeping.
Uber BV and others v Aslam and others  UKSC 5
Appeal against an ET decision (upheld by the EAT and Court of Appeal) that Uber drivers were workers for the purposes of employment legislation and therefore entitled to be paid the minimum wage, to receive holiday pay and to benefit from other protections. Appeal dismissed.
