Gilham v Ministry of Justice [2017] EWCA Civ 2220
Appeal against the dismissal of a District Judge's claim under Part IVA of the Employment Rights Act 1996 claiming that she had been subjected to various detriments contrary to section 47B of the Act (i.e. whistleblowing) on the basis that she was not a worker within the meaning of the 1996 Act, because she was an office-holder and not a party to a contract falling under either limb of section 230 (3). Appeal dismissed.

Vining v London Borough of Wandsworth [2017] EWCA Civ 1092
Appeal against two EAT decisions that 1) ruled that members of local authority parks police forces could not bring claims of unfair dismissal and 2) their trade union could not bring claims for a protective award. The first decision was upheld but the trade union decision was remitted to the ET.

Warner v B & M Europe and European Patent Office UKEAT/0081/15/RN; UKEAT/0139/16/RN
Appeal against an EJ's order confirming his earlier judgment on reconsideration, holding that the Employment Tribunal had no jurisdiction to hear the Claimant’s complaint of race discrimination and an appeal against another EJ's order refusing the Claimant’s application for reconsideration of that order striking out the Claimant’s complaint under sections 111 and 112 of the Equality Act 2010. Appeals dismissed.

Appeal against an ET decision that the claimants, who were Parks Police Constables, were not precluded by section 200 of the ERA from bringing claims of unfair dismissal, nor were claims brought by UNISON for a declaration and protective awards precluded by section 280(2) of TULR(C)A. Appeal allowed and the claimants' claim of unfair dismissal were dismissed, as were the claims for declarations and protective awards.
