Appeal against two orders for costs, one at the ET, the other at the EAT, ordering the unsuccessful claimant to pay the whole of the respondent costs of the ET proceedings and further costs of £2,500 in respect of his appeal against the decision of the Registrar. Appeal dismissed.

Baskaran v IMTech Traffic & Infra UK Ltd UKEAT/0018/13/GE
Appeal against a finding that the claimant had not suffered age or race discrimination when he failed to secure any of the jobs for which he had applied. Appeal also against a costs order of £10,000 made against the claimant. The appeal succeeded only as far as the amount of the costs order was concerned and this was remitted to the Tribunal for reconsideration.

Graham v London University College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust & Ors UKEAT/0130/13/LA
Appeal against the rejection of the claimant’s claim of race discrimination, and against a costs order made against the claimant. Appeal in relation to the race discrimination claim was dismissed but the costs appeal was allowed and the costs order set aside.
