New President of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) announced
Judge Barry Clarke to succeed Judge Brian Doyle as President
The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC, MP has appointed Judge Barry Clarke to be President of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) with effect from 11 May 2020.
Barry James Clarke will continue to be known as Judge Barry Clarke. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1996. He was appointed as an Employment Judge of the Employment Tribunals (England & Wales) in 2005 and became a Salaried Employment Judge of the Employment Tribunals (England & Wales) in 2010. He also served as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Immigration & Asylum Chamber between 2006 and 2010. He was appointed as a Regional Employment Judge in 2015, a Deputy Chair of the Central Arbitration Committee in 2016 and a Recorder (Civil) in 2019.
