April 2014 CPD Questions
All the questions this month relate to Mark Shulman's article "[A timely reminder - Case Round-Up: May 2014]()" and the following cases:
[Duniec v Travis Perkins Trading Company Ltd ]()UKEAT/0482/13/DA
Appeal against the striking out of the claimant's claims of unfair dismissal and race discrimination because they were brought out of time. Appeal dismissed.
[Hall v ADP Dealer Services Ltd ]()UKEAT/0390/13/SM
Appeal against the dismissal of the claimant's age discrimination claim because it was out of time and it was not just and equitable to extend time. Appeal dismissed.
[Fairchild v WM Morrison Supermarkets Ltd ]()UKEAT/0125/13/BA
Appeal against the dismissal of the claimant's claims of unfair dismissal and race discrimination because they were out of time. Appeal dismissed.
[University of Huddersfield v Halim ]()UKEAT/0446/13/SM
Appeal against an ET decision that it was just and equitable to extend time to hear the claimant's complaints of disability discrimination. Appeal allowed and remitted to the same Tribunal.
For each question answered correctly 10 minutes of CPD is added to your training record so if you answer all 12 that will give you 2 hours.
Barristers: please note that, according to BSB rules, you will have to answer at least 3 questions correctly, equivalent to 30 minutes, for the training to count towards your CPD requirements.
